NAB: TED SCHILOWITZ’S SILVERDRAFT TO OPEN HOLLYWOOD POSTPRODUCTION AND RENDERING FACILITY
BASED AT THE JIM HENSON STUDIOS, THE FACILITY WILL OFFER SERVICES FOR GAMES, VIRTUAL REALITY AND FEATURES.
Silverdraft is opening a “supercomputing lab” at the Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood, the company announced on the opening day of the National Association of Broadcasters Show.Dubbed the Silverdraft Center for Content Creation (SC3), it will offer post and rendering services for games, virtual reality and cinema content. The setup will include a 4K screening theater, as well as multiple creative bays running software for animation, VFX, color grading and finishing, as well as VR content creation for platforms such as Oculus Rift. The rooms will use Silverdraft Devil & Demon supercomputers and workstations.
“The SC3 puts our technology to use and creates a blueprint for how supercomputing can change the way we design workflows,” said Silverdraft president Ted Schilowitz (who is also Fox’s futurist, “cinemavangelist” at Barco and a board member of VR firm Jaunt).
At NAB, Silverdraft also introduced upgraded computing hardware.
