Tim Reha – IAA Global:
Hi, it’s Tim Reha here with a global live what’s coming next on the show floor at NAB 2023. We got CJ Martin here with Silverdraft. Welcome.
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
Thanks, Tim. Appreciate it. Glad to be here.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
So you just came in last night?
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
We just came in and we got everything all set up with a bunch of our partners and have Silverdraft gear and about a dozen locations throughout the NAB Show and just lots of great stuff going on.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
Yeah, we really appreciate having Silverdraft underwrite the event this year for us to come down. So I’m really curious about your background, how you got into the space.
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
Yeah, I started out as Chief Operating Officer. We built out a lot of the processes. We’ve been scaling the business over the last two years. We’ve moved into brand new facilities in Boise, Idaho that are helping us to scale the business to ship systems worldwide now, and I’ve taken over as the Chief Revenue Officer recently.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
Cool. What type of customers do you have?
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
We have customers in all facets of the industry. You know, just here at NAB, Magicbox is a great example of, a mobile virtual stage that we’re powering. We have some friends over here at Pixotope that are doing a really awesome software app that’s being used for a lot of augmented reality solutions. We have gear that’s over at the Amazon Web Services demo that’s going on where they’ve got a car that’s been spotlighted. So Silverdraft computers being used in all kinds of different ways here.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
Yeah, cool. I’ve seen you also do automotive?
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
Mechdyne was here, they’re a great resource that helps us in a lot of especially higher education situations where there’s lots of caves that are on university campuses, where they’re doing virtual production, and they do all the fabricating, setting up all that kind of stuff, run our compute for those folks. It’s awesome.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
So what’s your goal with NAB this year?
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
Well, we’re really excited to just be here, generate a lot of new leads with people that are building out solutions in a lot of virtual production situations. COVID has been a real instigator for a lot more virtual production opportunities. And we’re hoping that there’s lots of opportunities to power the creative types out in the industry, with whatever they’re putting together for their films and media and entertainment, and so on.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
We’re in a rapidly changing world with generative AI merging with virtual production, 3d, real time distributed teams, and you guys help create a fast technology stack and a reliable server solution?
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
Yeah, that’s right. Silverdraft systems are designed with just really premium components in them, they’re super quiet so that they can be in any kind of a stage setup. And they don’t interrupt whatever kind of sound effects that people are using. They’re designed to be really cool, so that they can run for a really long period of time without having any of the challenges of the components having to throttle because they get overheated. So, you know, they’re just really great in a lot of different scenarios where people can do really cutting edge work with them.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
So how do people get a hold of you? Or do you have anything else you’d like to add?
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
Yeah, our website is silverdraft.com People can go through the website, there’s a Contact button that’s there to fill out a form and ask us to get in touch with you and I’ll make sure that you get a call back in a couple of hours, we’re really responsive to folks and just excited to talk to them about whatever they’re doing.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
Yeah, what I liked is you can actually get a hold of a human being like I had some support call just to kind of work out my computer. And when I added a new card into it, it was really awesome.
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
We have fantastic guys in our engineering organization. When you’ve got an issue with a system. You talk directly to the guys that design that system from the ground up that built it, it’s handcrafted and we’ve got great folks to give you assistance in whatever way is needed to keep that thing running at its prime condition.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
Yeah, cool. I’ve got a fast machine now with a bunch of NVIDIA cards.
Tim Reha – IAA Global:
Thanks, CJ for being on the show, and we’ll catch you tonight at the party.
CJ Martin- Silverdraft:
Okay, thanks Tim.
